I have had 2 partial knee replacements done by Mr Malek, on both occasions he went through the process with me, putting me at ease answering any question I might have, even on the day he came to talk to me, after care was brilliant, such a kind and gentle man

Having suffered arthritic pain for several years, I finally succumbed and met Mr Malek. A delightful, caring, and professional gentleman, who immediately put me at ease and instilled confidence. My first full knee replacement was easier than I had expected. (Stung a bit initially of course!). I was driving, walking unaided, and almost pain free, within just 4 weeks. I did exactly as I was told by Mr Malek and the physio team, no more, and no less. So confident that just 18 months later I had my second full knee replacement. Again, the care and attention I received was exceptional. I doubt if I'll ever be skiing again, although it's tempting. I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful surgeon/magician, and cannot thank him enough.

I had issues with my hip for around 3 years, and they inevitably progressed. As an active runner, horse-rider and cyclist this became debilitating. I avoided going on the list for a new hip for some time as a was caring for my Dad full time at home. However the time came for me to go on the list and I had a new hip last October. Though it is obviously a major event, my hip op was a positive experience, from pre care/advice, through the surgery and including the follow up care. I had no pain, my recovery was quick (I gave up crutches after 3 days or so inside and was walking well crutch free very quickly. I was driving in 3 weeks, climbed the Wrekin on 9th December and hopped on the horse on New Year's Eve. Support from Sue the physio was excellent (she saw me twice and gave me specific exercises to help me stand and walk symmetrically again) and Mr Malek - with his professional, calm and gentle approach has helped throughout this experience. Very many thanks to Mr Malek and his team.
